Ellie Safran

executive functioning coach

I graduated from Clark University where I studied Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies. I am currently pursuing a Master’s of Science in Environmental Policy at The New School.

After college, I worked as a Case Manager at the non-profit Housing Works, where I oversaw a caseload of 40+ New Yorkers, helping connect them with essential social and support services, from housing to career development. This experience combined with my education background informs how I work with clients of all ages. I usually start by helping clients outline life goals that they’d like to reach, and then we will take achievable steps to get closer to where they want to be. I am empathetic and understanding of barriers that clients may be facing to reaching their life and executive functioning goals. I try to consider both emotional and organizational challenges, and problem solve collaboratively with the client. I also strive to be affirmative of each person’s strengths and acknowledge when they accomplish goals.

When I’m not working with people, I love working and spending time with animals, both my own and through volunteering and dog walking. I volunteer with Best Friends Animal Society, an animal adoption center in Soho, and I also work as a pet sitter. I have additional experience volunteering with food rescue and distribution organizations.
